KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is ranked 10th in this week's edition of the NSCAA/Hendrickcars.com NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll, announced College officials Wednesday.
Lees-McRae (9-4, 5-2 CC) has won six of its last eight matches, including a pivotal 1-0 win over Queens on Saturday to move into a tie for second in the Conference Carolinas standings. The Lady Bobcats have played tremendous defense this season, allowing two or more goals on just two occasions, while boasting one of the nation's top attacking units.
Armstrong Atlantic (8-1-2) tops this week's poll, followed by Columbus State (9-1-1), Belmont Abbey (12-0-0), North Georgia (9-1-0), and North Carolina-Pembroke (10-1-1). Lenoir-Rhyne (9-1-0) is ranked sixth, followed by Wingate (6-1-3), Georgia College & State (7-3-0), Lincoln Memorial (9-2-0), and Lees-McRae.
The Lady Bobcats return to the pitch on Friday when they host Brevard College in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. at Tate Field.
