INDIANAPOLIS --- Freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Kerrigan (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) is ranked eighth in the nation in assists, and the Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is listed in nine individual and team categories in the latest edition of the NCAA Division II women's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae (10-4, 5-2 CC) enters the week having won two of its last three matches, including a pivotal 1-0 win over Queens (N.C.) to begin the final stretch of the regular season in a three-way tie for second in the Conference Carolinas standings. The Lady Bobcats are ranked 20th in the nation in scoring offense (2.57) to begin the week, while LMC is also listed 42nd in winning percentage (0.714), 83rd in goals against average (1.071), and 85th in shutout percentage (0.357).
Kerrigan continues to be ranked among the nation's assists leaders, entering the week listed eighth in both total assists (nine) and helpers per match (0.69). Junior Brooke Santerre (Port Republic, Md.) and freshman MaryBeth Sullivan begin the week tied for 25th in total assists (seven), 32nd in helpers per match (0.5), 52nd in total points (21), and 59th in markers per contest (1.5).
Junior forward Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) enters the week ranked 59th in points per match (1.29) and assists per contest (0.43), while being listed 80th in total markers (18). Freshman Katelyn Custer (Mooresville, N.C.) has developed into a tremendous spark plug for the Lady Bobcats this season, tallying a late assist against Brevard to enter the week ranked 73rd in the nation in helpers per match (0.42). Senior goalkeeper Brittany Bolton (Roanoke, Va.) is also ranked 84th in goals against average (1.104).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Lady Bobcats travel to Tigerville, S.C. for a non-conference matchup with North Greenville University. The match is slated to kick off at 4:30 p.m.
