INDIANAPOLIS --- The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team is ranked ninth in the nation in scoring offense and shutout percentage, and is listed in eight additional statistical categories in this week's edition of the NCAA Division II women's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Tuesday.
Lees-McRae (5-2-1, 4-0 Conference Carolinas) has enjoyed a tremendous run of form over the last several weeks, holding its opponents off the scoreboard in each of its last six matches while tallying 23 goals in that span. The Bobcats enter the week ranked ninth in scoring offense (3.29) and shutout percentage (0.714), while being listed 42nd in goals against average (0.714), and 45th in winning percentage (0.714).
Sophomore MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.) is ranked 28th in total goals (6.0), 29th in goals per match (0.857), and 46th in points per contest (1.86), while senior forward Vickie Rich (Arlington Heights, Ill.) is listed 29th in total assists (4.0) and 33rd in assists per match (0.57).
Freshman goalkeeper Kaitlyn Briggs (Oviedo, Fla.) is ranked 35th in goals against average (0.667), while rookie forward Meagan Thornton (Millville, N.J.) is listed 61st in goals per match (0.714) and 82nd in points per contest (1.57). Fellow rookie Allyson Titsworth (Holmes Beach, Fla.) is also ranked 86th in assists per match (0.43).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Saturday when the Bobcats host Barton College in a conference matchup on Homecoming Weekend. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. on Tate Field.
