BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lena Langille scored her second straight game-winning goal Saturday to help the Lees-McRae women's soccer team pick up a 1-0 victory over Converse in a rain-soaked contest at Tate Field. The 1-0 victory is the Bobcats' second straight after knocking off Mount Olive by the same score a week ago. The win also boosts LMC's record in conference play over the .500 mark to 4-3-0.
There was not a whole lot separating the two teams Saturday. Both squads finished with 10 shots and eight fouls. The Bobcats, however, held the advantage in saves (5 to 3) as well as in corner kicks (5 to 1).
Goalkeeper Alexis Feely notched her fourth win of the season stopping those five shots by Converse. All four of Feely's victories so far this season have been shutouts.
Lees-McRae will look to keep its momentum rolling Wednesday when it welcomes Lenoir-Rhyne to Tate Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
