BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's soccer program released its 2018 schedule Thursday afternoon. The 20-match slate features three exhibition tilts, 11 Conference Carolinas matchups and 12 contests at Tate Field. LMC will open its 2018 slate on August 18 when it hosts Milligan College in an exhibition match before kicking off the regular season on August 30 hosting Lenoir-Rhyne at Tate Field.
In addition to their exhibition match against Milligan, the Bobcats will also take on Mars Hill (Aug. 21) and Emory & Henry (Aug. 23) during the preseason portion of their schedule. The contest against Emory & Henry on the 23rd will be played in Banner Elk.
A day after opening the regular season against Lenoir-Rhyne at home, the Bobcats will wrap up their first weekend of regular season action with another non-conference tilt on September 1 against Lynn. After those pair of contests, Lees-McRae will head out on the road for a critical three-match road swing beginning September 5 at national runner-up, Carson-Newman. The final two legs of that road trip will be Conference Carolinas contests at Southern Wesleyan on September 8 and at North Greenville on September 11.
Following the three-game road swing, the Bobcats will close out the month of September playing four of their last five matches on their home pitch. LMC will host Chowan (Sept. 15), Tusculum (Sept. 19), Limestone (Sept. 26) and Mount Olive (Sept. 29) during that stretch with the lone away match coming on September 22 at Erskine.
The final month of the regular season for Lees-McRae will begin with a pair of home matches against Newberry (Oct. 3) and Converse (Oct. 6). The match against Converse will be the team's homecoming match. LMC will then head out on the road on another three-match swing at Lincoln Memorial (Oct. 10), Belmont Abbey (Oct. 13) and Barton (Oct. 20). The Bobcats will then close out their regular season with conference matches against rival King (Oct. 24) and Emmanuel (Oct. 26). The final match versus Emmanuel will be the team's senior day.
The 2018 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament will begin October 30 with the quarterfinal round at the sites of the top four seeds. The semifinals will take place on November 2 with the final to follow on November 4 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
