GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's soccer team fell on the road at Limestone College by a score of 2-0 Wednesday evening in Conference Carolinas action.
Limestone won Wednesday's match with a goal in each half. The Saints' first goal came in the ninth minute in the first half and followed that up with another goal in the 57th minute. Overall, Limestone attempted 39 shots in the contest but only 12 were on goal.
Lees-McRae, meanwhile, attempted five shots against the Saints and two of them were on goal. Lianna Smith and Kiara Montenegro posted the shots on the Limestone keeper, while Pali Smith, Autumn Esposito and Maddy Klein registered shots in the match as well.
Hope Sanborn made the start in net for the Bobcats on Wednesday and made 10 saves on 12 shots faced. It marks the fifth time this season that Sanborn has made 10 or more saves in a game. Sanborn's record dips to 0-8-0 with the loss.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday when they host Belmont Abbey at Tate Field. Kickoff for that match is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
