ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College swimming teams closed out their respective regular seasons Saturday morning in Elizabehton, Tennessee. The Bobcats picked up a trio of team victories to go along with a few individual wins as well.

Team results – Lees-McRae's two team victories Saturday came against Warren Wilson. The men's team came out with a 97-28 victory, while the women's team upended Owls by a 58-52 final tally. In addition to those results, the Bobcats also dropped decisions to Mars Hill (Men's – 125-42, Women's – 125-40). Furthermore, Lees-McRae split against host school Milligan. The men's team knocked off the Buffaloes 83-59 but Milligan won the women's contest, 117-43.

Standout swims – The Bobcats had three swimmers post individual event victories Saturday. Jennifer Paul (200m freestyle) and Kayla Fleming (100m breaststroke) notched wins from the women's team. Paul and Fleming were also a part of Lees-McRae's lone relay win Saturday as the Bobcats won the 200m freestyle relay with a time of 2:00.36. Rounding out the victories for the Bobcats on the day was Javier Sanchez who won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:15.25.

Coach's take – "It was a good meet," said Lees-McRae Head Coach Sean Weddell. "We had some good swims and continue to improve. It's hard due the meet being in meters versus yards, but some good swims none the less. It's good to get additional team wins as well. I am really looking forward to the Conference Carolinas Championship meet."

Next up – Lees-McRae will make its postseason debut two weeks from now when it competes at the Conference Carolinas Championships. The conference meet will take place at the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center in Charlotte and will run from February 6-9.
