Wilson, NC--Against tough competition, LMC Women's Tennis players, led by Kasey Mabe, performed on a level that showed improvement from last weeks CVAC Championship matches.
Kasey Mabe led the women's team with her play in the Women's Singles A Flight. Her first match-up with Lander's A. L. Zaia displayed some of Mabe's best play yet, ending the first set with a 7-6 win and a crushing 6-1 victory in the second set to seal the match. Mabe then faced the number 1 seed, Illia Stupak in the round of 32. Stupka would go on to win the entire Flight after her defeat of Mabe who lost 0-6, 0-6. Coach Goode commented on the weekend stating, "I felt like our women came into this tournament with a different mentality, we did a much better job at limiting our unforced errors this weekend. Kasey and Ashley pulled out a couple of great wins in singles. I was proud of the way all three of them competed this weekend."
