BANNER ELK, N.C. --- The Lincoln Memorial University women's tennis team registered an 8-0 victory over Lees-McRae College in a rain-shortened non-conference match on Thursday afternoon.

Lincoln Memorial's (7-2) tandem of Leah Donoff and Logan Hubbs opened the day with an 8-0 win over Lees-McRae's (0-6) duo of Lyndsay Peagram (Greensboro, N.C.) and Samantha Wohlers (Windsor, Ontario, Canada), before Sofia Lopez Mimendi and Shena Joseph recorded an 8-2 victory against Kelsey Hiatt (Mt. Airy, N.C.) and Raven Harris (St. Pauls, N.C.). Lincoln Memorial was awarded the third doubles match by default.

Donoff defeated Peagram, 6-3, 6-2 in the first singles flight, as Mimendi posted a 6-2, 6-1 win against Wohlers. Hubbs notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Hiatt in the third singles flight, before the No. 4 match between Harris (LMC) and Joseph (LMU) was called with Joseph leading 2-0 in the first set. Lincoln Memorial was awarded the fifth and sixth singles flight by default.

Lees-McRae returns to the courts on Tuesday, March 20 when the Bobcats host North Greenville University in Conference Carolinas play at 2 p.m.
