BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College men's and women's tennis teams will hit the road on Saturday (Feb. 16) to take on Lee University in a non-conference match slated for a 12 p.m. start. Live stats will be available at www.lmcbobcats.com.
About the Bobcats
Men - Lees-McRae comes into the match 2-1 overall on the season. The men have a combined 4-3 record in doubles, as well as a 13-5 record in singles play. Four different doubles pairs have each picked up one win on the season so far. Matt Meluch has paced the Bobcats in singles play with three wins so far on the season, while Harrison Morris and Colton Porter each have two wins and three other Bobcats each have one win.
Women - Lees-McRae enters the week at 2-2 overall after a 7-0 win against Warren Wilson back on Saturday (Feb. 9). The women have posted a combined 7-5 doubles record and an 11-13 singles record. Zeynep Cakirer and Mackenzie Langmade are 2-1 in doubles play so far on the season, while five other doubles pairs have each posted one win. Five different Bobcats have each won two singles matches on the season, while Nursharneem Shamsuddin has also notched one singles win on the year.
Men - Lee enters the matchup at 2-0 overall after a 5-2 win over Carson-Newman on Thursday (Feb. 14). The Flames enter the contest against Lees-McRae with a perfect 6-0 combined doubles record as well as a 10-2 combined mark in singles play. Three different doubles tandems have each picked up two wins on the year, while four different Flames players are 2-0 in singles play on the season and another two each have one singles win.
Women - Lee enters the matchup at 2-0 overall after a 7-0 win over Carson-Newman on Thursday (Feb. 14). The Lady Flames enter the contest against Lees-McRae with a perfect 6-0 combined doubles record as well as a perfect 12-0 combined singles record. Three different doubles tandems have each won two matches on the year, while six different players are also 2-0 in singles play.
Series History vs. Lee
Men - Since 2006, this will be the fourth all-time meeting between Lees-McRae and Lee, with Lee leading the all-time series 2-1.
Women - Since 2006, this will be the third all-time meeting between Lees-McRae and Lee in women's tennis. Lee has won both previous meetings in the series.
Up Next - The Bobcats will entertain their second non-conference road match out of a five-match stretch next Thursday (Feb. 21) when they travel to Catawba. The match begins at 2 p.m.
