Women's Tennis earns Saturday win over Milligan

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team earned a 4-1 win over Milligan at the Bristol Indoor Tennis Facility on Saturday (Feb. 23) in non-conference action.

Lees-McRae captured two of three doubles matches for one point before taking three out of four singles matches to seal the victory.

Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin earned a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, before Zeynep Cakirer and Mackenzie Langmade won at No. 2 doubles 6-4.

Cakirer would win 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, before Jaden Acklin would take No. 5 singles 6-3, 6-4. Langmade would clinch the match with a 6-1, 4-6, 10-4 win at No. 3 singles.

The Bobcats (3-3) are back in action on Tuesday (Feb. 26) at Catawba for a 2 p.m. start. The match is being made up after postponement from its original date of Feb. 21.
