Women's Tennis falls to Erskine in conference play on Friday

DUE WEST, S.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team fell in its first Conference Carolinas match of the year at Erskine by a score of 6-1 on Friday (Mar. 22).

Erskine won two out of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before winning five out of six singles matches on the day.

Lees-McRae earned a win at No. 1 doubles from Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin by a score of 6-3, before Zeynep Cakirer captured a 6-4 win at No. 3 singles to secure the lone point for Lees-McRae.

The Bobcats (8-7, 0-1 Conference Carolinas) are back in action tomorrow at Emmanuel (Ga.) for an 11 a.m. league contest.
