Women's Tennis falls to Belmont Abbey in conference action on Friday

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team fell to visiting Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas action on Friday (Mar. 29) by a score of 5-2.

Lees-McRae won two out of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before winning only one singles match on the afternoon.

Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin earned a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, before Jaden Acklin and Rebecca Pierce picked up a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. Pierce also won by default at No. 5 singles.

The Bobcats (9-9, 1-3 Conference Carolinas) are back on the court tomorrow (Saturday, Mar. 30) to host Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas action. First serve is set for 11 a.m., with video available at www.lmcbobcats.com.
