BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's tennis team makes its first Conference Carolinas tournament appearance since 2014-15 on Friday (Apr. 26) at 12 p.m. battling No. 2 seed Emmanuel (Ga.) at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.
About the Bobcats - The Bobcats enter the tournament after finishing the regular season 12-13 along with a 4-7 mark in Conference Carolinas play. The Bobcats went 38-32 in doubles play, while posting 60 combined singles wins on the season. Sandy Allen and Nursharneem Shamsuddin lead the team in doubles at 15-8, while Jaden Acklin and Rebecca Pierce have also won nine doubles matches. Zeynep Cakirer and Mackenzie Langmade have posted eight wins in doubles play, while Acklin and Dakota Tittle have teamed up for three doubles wins. Two other doubles tandems have posted wins on the year for the Bobcats. Acklin and Cakirer each lead the team with 12 wins apiece in singles play, while Allen and Pierce each have nine singles wins. Shamsuddin has won eight matches in singles play, while Langmade has won seven and Tittle has also contributed one win.
About Emmanuel (Ga.) - The Lions enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed after going 12-10 overall and 9-2 in Conference Carolinas play.
Series History vs. Emmanuel (Ga.) - Since 2006, this will be the sixth all-time meeting between Lees-McRae and Emmanuel (Ga.) in women's tennis. Emmanuel (Ga.) leads the series in that span 4-1.
