Lady Bobcats Compete on First Day of Wake Forest Open

Winston-Salem, NC--The Lees-McRae College women's track team competed on the first day of the Wake Forest Open on the campus of Wake Forest University. Leading the way for the Lady Bobcats was sophomore Gina Valenti (Washington, NC) in the women's 5,000m run. Gina's time of 19:20.24 placed her 27th overall in that event.

Also competing for LMC was Ashley May (Chilhowie, VA), Demarea Colson (Chesapeake, VA), and Jenny Hurd (Danbury, NC) in the 800m run; April Harris (Jonesville, VA) in the 5,000m run; and Erin Tyler (Branford, FL) and Shantra McCoy (Stafford, VA) in the 100m hurdles.

The Lady Bobcats will be back in action on the second day of the Wake Forest Open this Saturday, March 22nd.
