Lady Bobcats Break School Records at Two Different Locations Over the Weekend

BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's track team competed at two different locations over the weekend, North Carolina A&T and Liberty University.


At the Liberty meet Erin Tyler competed in the heptathlon.

Tyler's day one results,
Event 1: 100 hurdles 16.78, personal record 611 points
Event 2: High Jump 4'07", 502 points
Event 3: Shot put 29'08", 467 points
Event 4: 200 meter run 27.71, personal record 654 points
Her day one point total 2234, which placed her 7th.

Tyler's day two results
Event 5: Long jump 4.48 meters, 423 points
Event 6: Javelin 91'09", 438 points
Event 7: 800 meter run 2:47.47, 490 points
Final results 3585 points for 7th place overall, which set a new school record by 285 points.

At the North Carolina A&T meet, Crystal Bass set a new school record with a 28.09 meter hammer throw. Hannah Trimble finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 10', and current Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of Week Shantra McCoy had a triple jump distance of 9.92 meters.

The Lady Bobcats will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne for their next meet.
