Fletcher Adds 13 to Women's Track Program

BANNER ELK, N.C. - Head women's track and field coach Ley Fletcher has announced the addition of 13 athletes to the 2009-2010 Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats track and field program.

The 13 newcomers are:

Emily Brooks
Hometown: Patuxent River, Md.
High School: Great Mills
Performance: 100 high hurdles time 16.78

Kayla Caldwell
Hometown: North Wilks, N.C.
High School: North Wilks N.C.
Performance: Discus 30'00

Jamara Cook
Hometown: Claremont NC
High School: Bunkern Hill
Perfomance: Shot Put 33'2, Discus 109m and 4th place finish at the NC State Meet.

Rashawandra Doby
Hometown: Coumbia, S.C.
High School: Ridge View
Performance: 100 high hurdles 16.30.

Chelsea Defour
Hometown: Greenville, N.C.
High School: Ayden-Grifton
Perfomance: 100m high hurdles 17.20, 300m hurdles 52.1, 400 meter run 1:00.01 Conference Champions in the 4x400 meter relay and State qualifier.

Kayleen Earwood
Hometown: Asheville, N.C.
High School: AC Reynolds
Perfomance: 200 meter run 26.90, 400 meter run 58.00 and 5th place finish at the North Carolina State Meet in the 4x400 meter relay and set school record.

Kayla Frazier
Hometown: Mt. Crogan, S.C.
High School: Chesterfield
Performance: Shot Put 34'2, discus 103m, All-Region Athlete and placed 3rd in South Carolina State Meet.

Auburn Lowe
Hometown: Swain County, N.C.
High School: Swain County
Performance: 100 meter run 13.01, 200 meter run 27.09 and Pole Vault 9'0 feet.

Genay Miller
Hometown: Woodstock, Ga.
High School: Creek View
Performance: Shot Put 34'11, Discus 104m, Weight Throw Indoors 40', hammer throw 120' and placed 7th at the Indoor High School National Meet.

Karina Ortiz
Hometown: Hickory, N.C.
High School: Hickory High
Performance: Shot Put 34'0

Iesha Poindexter
Hometown: Jetterville, Va.
High School: Amelia County
Performance: 100 meter run 12.98, 200 meter run 27.6 and 4th place finish in both events at Region Meet.
