Cook sets school record at Wake Forest Invitational
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --- Jamara Cook (Claremont, N.C.) set a new school record in the hammer throw to pace the Lees-McRae College women's track and field team on the first day of the Wake Forest Invitational, hosted by Wake Forest University.
Cook hurled the hammer 37.77 meters, shattering the previous mark by more than two meters en route to a 26th-place finish. Freshman Taryn Moorhead (Deer Park, Wash.) posted the high finish of the day for the Bobcats, placing seventh in group "B" of the pole vault competition with a mark of 3.05 meters. Hannah Henderson (Canvas, W.Va.) also finished 10th in the steeplechase with a time of 12:39.96.
Lees-McRae will be back in action on Saturday morning for the second day of the Wake Forest Invitational.
