NEW ORLEANS --- The Lees-McRae College women's track and field team has been recognized as one of 92 NCAA Division II all-Academic Track and Field Teams by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association, earning the distinction for the second straight season.
The Bobcats are one of 92 teams in the nation to sport a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better, carrying a mark of 3.49 as a squad to lead the pack in Conference Carolinas. Lees-McRae is one of three programs from the conference, including King College and Queens University of Charlotte, as a total of six teams from the Southeast Region earned all-academic honors during the 2012-2013 season.
Lees-McRae enjoyed a strong campaign this year, placing five athletes on the USTFCCCA all-Southeast Region team during the indoor season and four on the outdoor squad, including dual recipients Kortnie Curry (Lexington, N.C.), Sarah Monday (Lexington, N.C.), and Taryn Moorhead (Deer Park, Wash.).
