Women's Track and Field Tied for Seventh in Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches' Poll

CONFERENCE CAROLINAS FULL RELEASE

HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College women's track and field team was picked tied for seventh with King University in the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field preseason coaches' poll, the league announced today (Friday, Nov. 30).

Mount Olive is listed as the preseason favorite with 90 points, while the Bobcats are tied with King in seventh with 34 points. Lees-McRae finished tied for seventh in last year's Conference Carolinas championships with 19 points.

Jordyn Halvorsen, Brittney Augustin and Natalie Donahue were named as athletes to watch for the Bobcats. Halvorsen is coming off a junior season in which she set personal-best marks in the steeplechase, the 1,500-meter run and the 5,000-meter run. Her mark in the steeplechase of 12:57.87 came at last year's Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships. Augustin is a freshman who will compete in the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles, as well as the long jump. Donahue, another freshman will mainly participate in the pole vault.
