Edinboro Beats LMC 3-1

Banner Elk, NC--The Lees-McRae Lady Bobcats opened play in the Carolina Challenge Friday afternoon, hosting Edinboro University, falling 3-1, (31-29, 23-30, 26-30, 22-30). The Lady Bobcats record now stands even at 5-5, (2-0 Conference Carolinas).

Senior Daviana Metti (Cordoba, Argentina) paced the Lady Bobcats offensively, setting a new career game high with five service aces and a team high 12 kills. Freshman Whitney Kiser (Connelly Springs, NC) added seven kills while sophomore Katie-Marie Legg (Alta Loma, CA) and senior Caty Honey (Geneva, IL) chipped in six kills each. Sophomore Lauren Dickover (Las Vegas, NV) saw her first game action of 2007, recording 18 assists after starting the season on the injured list. Freshman Kell Bogdan (Leawood, KS) contributed 13 assists for the Lady Bobcats while senior libero Dani Usedom had a team high 15 digs. At the net Natalie Burns (Orlando, FL) set a career game high with five block assists while also adding one solo block.

The Lady Bobcats will be back in action this evening facing Lenoir-Rhyne at 7:00pm at Williams Gymnasium.
