Justice, Bobcats listed in final NCAA Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team is listed in six individual and team categories in the final edition of the NCAA Division II statistics, announced NCAA officials Tuesday.

Lees-McRae (25-8, 18-0 CC) enjoyed one of the best seasons in program history this fall, sweeping conference play with an 18-0 record against league opponents en route to the school's 12th Conference Carolinas regular season championship in the last 13 years. The Bobcats also punched the program's 12th NCAA Tournament ticket by capturing the school's third conference tournament title in the last four years.

The Bobcats conclude the season ranked 32nd in the nation in winning percentage (0.758), 40th in hitting percentage (0.233), 62nd in aces per set (1.75), 73rd in assists per stanza (11.54), and 92nd in kills per frame (12.25).

Senior middle blocker Whitney Justice (Connelly Springs, N.C.) wrapped up her Bobcat career with a stellar season this fall, concluding the campaign ranked 19th in the nation in hitting percentage (0.372). The 2009 AVCA All-American paced Conference Carolinas in hitting percentage, posting a .450 mark against league opponents this fall en route to her second straight Conference Carolinas Player of the Year honors.

Lees-McRae ended their season with a 25-8 record, including a perfect 18-0 mark in conference play en route to the program's 12th league title in the past 13 years. The Bobcats are expected to return eight letter-winners, including first team all-conference selections Megan Epperson (St. John, Ind.) and Megan Mitchell (Minden, Nev.).
