Haydn Beatty nets all-Conference Carolinas honors

HIGH POINT, N.C. --- Lees-McRae College senior Haydn Beatty (Norman, Okla.) has been named to the all-Conference Carolinas team for the first time in her career, earning a spot on the third team, announced league officials Wednesday.

With this honor, Beatty adds to her awards palette during her senior season after being named to the Conference Carolinas Academic all-Conference team earlier this fall. Over the past two seasons in the Green and Gold, Beatty totaled 352 kills, 211 digs, and 148 blocks in 60 appearances.

The Norman, Okla. native put together her best statistical season this fall, posting career-highs in digs, blocks, and aces while tallying 171 kills. Beatty was a force at the net for the Bobcats this season, finishing the campaign ranked seventh in the conference in blocks per set (0.72), while averaging nearly two kills per frame.

King University paced the conference with six selections, including Defensive Player of the Year Payton Tipton. Belmont Abbey College followed closely with five honorees, including Player of the Year Hannah Schellenberg, Freshman of the Year Ana Maria Pagan, and Coach of the Year Mary DeJute.

Lees-McRae is expected to return four letter-winners from this season, including rising juniors Angela Morse (Greenville, S.C.) and Jordan Banta Virginia Beach, Va.).
