BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women's volleyball team will close out its regular season with three matches this week. LMC will begin the week with its final road match of the season when it heads to Fayetteville State for a non-conference tilt on Tuesday. The Bobcats will then close out their regular season with home matches against Barton on Friday and Mount Olive on Saturday. Saturday will be the team's senior day. Tuesday's and Friday's matches are set to begin at 7 p.m. with Saturday's beginning at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Bobcats picked up their sixth win of the season Saturday when they swept Converse College (25-23, 25-18, 25-19) on the road. With the win, the Bobcats are 3-1 in their last four matches.

Sweep Stat: When Lees-McRae has come out on top this season, it has usually been in just three sets. Five of the team's six victories in 2017 have come in three frames. Additionally, 12 of the team's 17 wins over the past two seasons have been 3-0 sweeps.

Non-conference note: Half of the Bobcats' win total this season have come in non-conference contests. LMC owns a pair of victories over Bluefield State and the other came at home against UVa-Wise in late September.

Home Sweet Home: With just two home matches remaining on the regular season, the Bobcats need only to split their last two at home to notch a winning record on their home floor. It would be the first time since 2014 that LMC has accomplished that feat.

Senior Stepping Up: LMC has won three of its past five matches and a big reason for that has been the play of senior setter Courtney Weathersbee. Weathersbee is averaging 7.18 assists per set and 3.29 digs per frame in the past five contests to go along with five aces.

About the Opponents: Fayetteville State enters Tuesday's match with LMC playing its best volleyball of the season. Over its past 12 matches, FSU is 11-1 boosting its overall record in 2017 to 17-7 on the season.

Barton currently sits at the top of the Conference Carolinas standings with an 11-1 record in league matches and a 17-7 mark overall. Leading the way for the Bulldogs this season has been Kaytlin Elkins and Allie Cullens. Elkins paces the conference with 4.06 kills per set and Cullens leads the league with a hitting percentage of .313.

The Trojans come into the final week of the regular season with 10 wins on the season, including five in conference play. UMO has been led this season by senior outside hitter Britni Johnson who has 349 kills. Johnson's kill total ranks second in the conference behind only Southern Wesleyan's Paige O'Connor who has 381.

Series Histories vs. Opponents: LMC has faced each of its three opponents this week earlier this season. The Bobcats came out on the losing side in each of these three contests. Lees-McRae is 3-1 all-time versus FSU, 15-8 against Barton and 15-11 against UMO in the all-time matchups.
