    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team picked up its third straight win Friday night at Williams Gymnasium as it knocked off Mount Olive in four sets (25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-19). The victory pushes LMC’s record to 6-16 overall and 2-5 in league action.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Fueled by a career-high 14 kills from Lexi Zangari, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team picked up a four-set victory over UVa-Wise (22-25, 25-18, 29-27, 25-13) Tuesday night at Williams Gymnasium. The win, which is the team’s second straight, improves LMC’s record to 5-16 on the season.

LMC will open the week by hosting UVa-Wise Tuesday night at 6 p.m. before returning to conference play Friday when it welcomes Mount Olive to Banner Elk for a 7 p.m. contest.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will open a season-long seven match home stand this week with three contests at Williams Gymnasium. LMC will open the week with a tilt against Belmont Abbey Tuesday before welcoming North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan to the High Country Friday and Saturday. Tuesday’s and Friday’s matches are slated for 7 p.m. first serves, while Saturday’s is set to begin at noon.

  • Bobcats mount a rally but fall in four to Erskine

    DUE WEST, S.C. – After dropping the first two sets of its match at Erskine Friday night (25-15, 25-13), the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team mounted a rally to win the third set 25-22. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, the Flying Fleet won the fourth set 25-22 to finish off the four-set win. With the loss, LMC moves to 3-13 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team hosted Shaw University Tuesday night at Williams Gymnasium in a non-conference contest. LMC battled but ultimately fell to the Bears by a 3-1 final tally (25-20, 25-22, 26-28, 25-12). The loss pushes LMC’s record on the season to 3-12.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will close out the month of September with three matches this week. LMC will begin the week by hosting Shaw University Tuesday night at Williams Gymnasium before heading out on a two-match road swing to Erskine and Emmanuel on Friday and Saturday. Tuesday’s and Friday’s matches are set to begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday’s is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team is scheduled to compete in three matches this week. Among these matches will be LMC’s home opener and the team’s first conference match of the 2018 season. The Bobcats will start the week with a trip to UVa-Wise Tuesday (6 p.m.) before returning home Friday and Saturday when they host conference rivals Mount Olive (7 p.m.) and Belmont Abbey (2 p.m.), respectively.

  • Women’s Volleyball makes history on its way to a pair of victories Friday

    ATHENS, W.V. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team had a historic day in the state of West Virginia on Friday. Not only did the Bobcats pick up a pair of three-set victories over Concord (25-20, 25-18, 25-21) and Bluefield State (25-6, 25-10, 25-5), but they also broke the program record for hitting percentage in a single match in their matchup against Bluefield State hitting .741 on 59 attacks. This hitting percentage mark is believed to be the second-highest mark ever in a three-set match in the history of NCAA Division II women’s volleyball.
  • Women’s Volleyball heads to West Virginia this weekend for four matches

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will head to the state of West Virginia this weekend to compete in its final non-conference tournament of the 2018 season. LMC will take on host school Concord (2 p.m.) along with Bluefield State (8 p.m.) Friday before closing out its trip with tilts against West Virginia Tech (11 a.m.) and Kentucky State (1 p.m.) Saturday.     BANNER ELK, N.C. – After opening its 2018 campaign last weekend in South Carolina, the Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will return to its home state of North Carolina this weekend for another non-conference tournament. LMC, which holds a 0-4 record this fall, will head to Pembroke, N.C. for a total of four matches against Lenoir-Rhyne and Fayetteville State on Friday before wrapping up the event with tilts against Shaw and Coker on Saturday.

    FLORENCE, S.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team fell twice Saturday on day two of the Coker/FMU Invitational. LMC dropped its first match of the day to Winston-Salem State by a score of 3-2 (25-19, 23-25,16-25,25-15,15-11) followed by a 3-0 loss (25-20,25-14,25-15) to Francis Marion.

  • Women’s Volleyball opens its 2018 season this weekend in South Carolina

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College women’s volleyball team will lift the lid on its 2018 regular season this weekend with four matches in South Carolina. LMC will take on Virginia Union and Coker Friday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively in Hartsville. Following those two matches, the Bobcats will travel to Florence where they will take on Winston-Salem State and Francis Marion Saturday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. – Entering the first season under new Head Coach Caitlin Bullock, the Lees-McRae College Women’s Volleyball team was picked to finish ninth in the Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Additionally, Elissa Small, Caitlyn Smirne and Kaci Thornton were all selected as players to watch for LMC this fall.
  • Caitlin Bullock named Head Coach of LMC Women’s Volleyball

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College’s Vice President of Athletics and Club Sports Craig McPhail announced the hiring of Caitlin Bullock as the school’s new Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Friday afternoon. Bullock joins the Bobcats after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s volleyball programs at fellow Conference Carolinas institution, King University.
