Peterman paces Bobcats at UNC Asheville

SWANNANOA, N.C. --- Senior Heather Peterman (Buford, Ga.) paced the Lees-McRae College women's cross country team to a 10th-place finish at the UNC Asheville Cross Country Carnival against some stiff NCAA Division I competition.

Host UNC Asheville claimed the team win with 25points, followed closely by Wofford College (84), Western Carolina University (88), Winthrop University (103), and Radford University (116). Charleston Southern University was sixth with 122 points, followed by Presbyterian College (201), Gardner-Webb University (214), Limestone College (262), and Lees-McRae (303).

Peterman led the way for the Bobcats in 74th with a time of 25:51, as Makayla Boswell (Mocksville, N.C.), Erin Bingham (West Jefferson, N.C.), Jessica Hattabaugh (Hamilton, Mass.), and Sarah Monday (Lexington, N.C.) finished 78th through 81st, respectively.

Lees-McRae returns to the trails on Saturday, September 28 when the Bobcats travel to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in the UNC Charlotte Invitational.
